Description
The demonstrator presents SIX Head, a system solution for sheet metal surface defect inspection and quality control using artificial intelligence based models.
SIX Head uses different types of technologies, advanced robotics, machine vision and a software based on NUTAI’s own artificial intelligence model for the algorithm to detect defects up to 0.4mm.
Innovative aspects
SIX Head through its hardware consisting of an anthropomorphic robotic arm and an end effector including a vision and illumination system and AI-based defect recognition software, developed by NUTAI has led to excellent results, with success rates of 96%, whereas with existing vision technology for image analysis on the market, the success rate of quality control did not exceed 75%.
Pilot implementations
The initial implementation of SIX HEAD is in the automotive industry, specifically in the car body manufacturing plants of two of the main OEMs, where NUTAI S.L., due to its professional trajectory, has carried out numerous automation, design and machine development works.
