NeuroCPS4Maintenance is the first inter-regional success-case of DIHBU.
NeuroCPS4Maintenance proposal was submitted to the DIH4CPS First Call for proposals for Application Experiments in the field of cyber-physical and embedded systems. The project, which will take place over a period of approximately 12 months, has obtained direct support from DIH4CPS cascade funding.
The main objective of NeuroCPS4Maintenance is to develop and validate a new type of sensor, based on neuromorphic technology, capable of detecting anomalies, and warning of failures in advance, and providing a fast and safe response in real-time, for predictive maintenance applications in highly demanding industrial settings. This anomaly detector will be based on deep learning algorithms (LSTM) and will be implemented in the system on chips (SoC).
NeuroCPS4Maintance will be developed from March 1 by a consortium formed by the Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0, as DIH, ITCL Technology Centre, and Intigia, a startup specialized in artificial intelligence implemented in embedded systems.
The validation of the prototype will be carried out in a large industrial company from Burgos, a partner of DIHBU, which will be a pioneer in testing this intelligent hardware in an industrial environment. The final objective is to generate a new smart hardware of entirely Spanish origin, which can be marketed.
DIHBU will coordinate the final tests in a real environment and will collaborate with ITCL and Intigia to transfer the results to the market, if the solution is validated.
The generation of the collaboration agreement between ITCL and Intigia has been possible thanks to the prior joint management of DIH I4MSOUTH of the Region of Murcia, managed by CENTIC, and DIHBU. Both DIHs worked as a team to detect the opportunity and to get in contact Intigia with other potential interested partners, and specifically with ITCL technology centre, as well as in the definition of the experiment proposal, and its presentation to the DIH4CPS Open Call.
With this new project, DIHBU consolidates itself as a digital innovation hub capable of articulating successful industrial experiments, and generating wealth and opportunities for the region.
The infraestructure for the preparation of the proposal has been possible thanks to the partial financial support of Ayuntamiento de Burgos (Collaboration Agreement 2020 with DIHBU).
