Detail

DIGIS3 Advanced services for industrial digitization

DIGIS3 is a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), supported by the EU, that accompanies and drives the digital transformation of SMEs and public administrations in Castilla y León, through intelligent processes, sustainable and accessible to all. It has specialized technicians, spaces to experiment with new technologies and digitization itineraries designed according to the level, sector and characteristics of the territory.

DIGIS3 connects technology, knowledge and financing so that digitalization is a achievable reality.

Thanks to DIGIS3, organizations can drive innovation, optimize resources and improve competitiveness by integrating digitalization into their industrial strategy in a practical and scalable way.

AIR Insitute. Artificial intelligence, big data and IoT solutions for business digitalisation

AIR Institute is a research center, whose objective is the promotion and development of scientific research in the field of AI, big data, quantum computing, bioinformatics and IoT. It consists of a multidisciplinary team of researchers working to promote innovation in the fields of information technologies, informatics, artificial intelligence and information and communication technologies.

AIR has developed leading-edge projects such as AIR Genomics, AIR Core or AIR Vaccination, and manages the Centre of Expertise in Intelligent Data Space in Zamora, also promoting training and the creation of technological talent.

Recognized by the Regional Government as one of the technological centres of the Castilla and Leon Region, it is an organization specialized in the transfer of knowledge from the scientific and technological environment to the productive system, so it has infrastructures, highly specialized equipment, and human resources.

SCAYLE: HPC Services, Quantum Computing, Cloud Computing, OpenSCAYLE, RedSCAYLE, BioSCAYLE, Training Activities

The SCAYLE space is a support and guidance resource for researchers, companies, and organizations interested in developing R&D&I projects. Through its participation in the PI+D+i Network, it offers information on CDTI funding opportunities and advises on Public Procurement of Innovation processes. In this way, it brings the available resources closer to the scientific and technological community, facilitating the implementation of innovative initiatives.

Innovative aspects:

  • Comprehensive access to disruptive technologies: supercomputing (HPC), artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and bioinformatics, all integrated into a single infrastructure.
  • Hybrid quantum-classical services: integration of the Caléndula supercomputer with quantum emulators, positioning Castilla y León at the forefront of quantum computing research.
  • Massive shared storage (OpenCAYLE): platform with an initial capacity of 9 PB, designed for scientific data but flexible enough for any type of digital information.
  • BioSCAYLE: combination of state-of-the-art sequencers (Oxford Nanopore) with supercomputing for highly complex genomic analysis.
  • RedCAYLE: advanced fiber optic infrastructure with more than 1,400 km deployed, connecting academic and scientific institutions with a capacity of up to 100G.
  • Specialized training: advanced courses in supercomputing, quantum computing, bioinformatics, and cloud computing, which reinforce knowledge transfer.

Currently, SCAYLE has launched innovative services that are already operational, such as OpenCAYLE for mass storage, BioSCAYLE for genomic projects, the integration of quantum emulators with the Caléndula supercomputer, the high-capacity RedCAYLE network, and cloud computing services.

Digital Innovation Hub on Livestock, Environment, Agriculture and Forest (DIH-LEAF): Digital transformation of the primary sector in Castilla y León

The presence of DIH-LEAF within the DIGIS3 stand will show, through graphic and audiovisual material, how digital technologies applied to agriculture and livestock (sensorization, remote sensing, farm monitoring and data use) They are driving the modernisation of the primary sector in Castilla y León. This is not a physical demonstrator, but a representation within the common space of the DIGIS3 stand.

Innovative aspects:

  • Application of advanced digital technologies (IoT, IA, remote sensing) to the agricultural sector.
  • Pilot projects for innovation in real farms.
  • Support model for rural SMEs to facilitate access to digitisation.
  • Integration of networked services with other European Digital Innovation Hubs.
  • Search for funding

DIMAT project / PIONEER project: The future of advanced manufacturing: user-oriented, resource-efficient digital tools

The European projects DiMAT and Pioneer present their unique software solutions to help materials manufacturers innovate. Both platforms offer powerful digital pathways to greater efficiency and competitiveness.

Innovative aspects of DiMAT:

  • AI-driven design and modeling systems, simulation and optimization environments, life cycle assessment tools, and advanced data management solutions. In total, nine software solutions grouped into three suites, which can be used together or independently, both in the cloud and in local deployments.

Innovative aspects of Pioneer:

  • Improved data interoperability and creation of new services linked to data analysis, simulations, and visualization techniques in all phases of the materials value chain.
  • Development of digital tools for industry that increase product efficiency and quality, as well as strengthening the ability to react quickly and effectively to market changes.

DiMAT pilot implementations:

  • The solutions are being developed with real industrial challenges in mind and are currently being validated in four pilot cases in the textile, composites, glass, and graphite sectors.

Pioneer pilot implementations:

The project is being piloted in two demonstrators:

  • Metal additive manufacturing for construction.
  • Carbon fiber SMC components for the automotive industry.
