Immersive and interactive 3D reconstruction of objects and structures from conventional video

ITCL Technology Centre

Burgos, Spain

Stand 9

3rd Floor Forum Evolution Burgos. October 15 and 16, 2025

Description

The 3D reconstruction presented in this demonstrator allows interactive three-dimensional environments to be generated from a simple video recorded with any device, including conventional mobile cameras.

The system automatically processes the content to create a navigable 3D model, offering users an immersive experience similar to flying over the original scene. In addition, the technology enables the extraction of point clouds from the virtual scene, allowing measurements to be taken within the reconstructed environment.

During the demonstration, participants will be able to record videos of objects or areas of their choice to reconstruct them in 3D and explore them interactively. The proposal stands out for its use of accessible methods, eliminating the need for expensive sensors or those dependent on specific lighting conditions.

ITCL Technology Center is a private, non-profit organization specializing in applied research and technological development.

Innovative aspects

  • Ability to generate photorealistic 3D models using only videos captured with common mobile devices, eliminating the need for expensive specialized sensors sensitive to variations in lighting.

Pilot Deployments

Pilot implementations of artificial intelligence-based 3D reconstruction have been carried out in various industrial fields. From a simple video recorded with a mobile phone, the algorithms developed by ITCL generate hyperrealistic 3D models ready to be visualized and shared without the need for high-performance equipment. This technology has already been validated with manufacturers of automotive components and industrial machinery, obtaining models of parts with sufficient detail for visual inspections, metrics, tolerances and creation of reference CAD.

It has also been applied to complete vehicles, facilitating the detection of shocks, deformations and geometric analysis in expertises and after-sales.

In the case of large infrastructures, such as warehouses or logistics plants, digital twins have been created that are useful for planning, maintenance and safety, all without interrupting operation.
