DIHBU will officially inaugurate the facilities of the unique Polea Lab project on 28 January, in a ceremony which will be attended by the Regional Minister for Industry, Trade and Employment of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, and the Councillor for Industry of Burgos City Council, as well as the hub partners, stakeholders and other guests.
The facilities are located on the ground floor of the general services building of ITCL Centro Tecnológico, and consist of two pilot laboratories:
- Lab 5G Industrial
- Lab Cobots/Industrial Exoskeletons
The project’s Labs, pioneers in Spain, and owned by the DIHBU, are made available to companies in Castilla y León through services provided by the Hub, which will be free of charge for SMEs in Castilla y León, thanks to the support of the regional government, until 30 October 2026, after which it will operate with its own resources, under a service-based invoicing scheme.
The opening ceremony will take place from 10.00 a.m. and attendance is by invitation only.
The POLEA Lab infrastructure allows for:
- Demonstration and testing activities, and feasibility of scaling up to plant level.
- Generate scenarios for promotion, learning and effective technology dissemination.
- Testing and validation activities in a real-life environment of advanced solutions for industry, under the philosophy of ‘try before you decide’.
- Facilitate the scaling of their innovations with pilots for recipient companies, especially for industrial start-ups.
The POLEA LAB project is an initiative of DIHBU, which has 100% funding granted as a singular project by the Consejería de Industria, Comercio y Empleo de la Junta de Castilla y León.
