Intelligent Automation in the Beverage Industry

IFM Electronic

Cataluña, Spain

Stand 33

3rd Floor Forum Evolution Burgos. October 15 and 16, 2025

Description

The demonstrator presents an interactive demo that simulates the automated transfer of product between tanks, inspired by real processes in the beverage industry. The model integrates Industry 4.0 technologies, including flow meters, temperature probes, continuous level sensors, and vibration detection.

IFM Electronic Spain is a company specializing in industrial automation technology. It is dedicated to the sale, technical advice, and support of sensors, controllers, software, and integrated systems to optimize industrial processes and support digitization with IIoT solutions and smart manufacturing.

Innovative aspects

  • Smart tanks – Interactive simulation of automated product transfer between tanks, inspired by real processes in the beverage industry.
  • Integration of key technologies – Flow meters, temperature probes, continuous level sensors, and vibration detection.
  • Smart connectivity with IO-Link – Efficient communication between sensors and control systems.
  • Intuitive control from touchscreen PLC – Simple process visualization and management.
  • Transforming data into smart decisions – Real-time monitoring that highlights the potential for operational efficiency.

Pilot Deployments

Sector: Food & Beverage – Brewing industry

Application description: At this customer in the brewing industry, the implementation of IO-Link enabled the digitization and optimization of key processes in the brewhouse using sensors for flow, conductivity, temperature, level, and pressure. Thanks to this technology, the company was able to transmit data directly to the controller and IT, facilitating the digitization of the plant. Installation was simplified thanks to standardized connections and decentralized infrastructure, reducing wiring and measurement points. In addition, parameters are stored in the IO-Link master, allowing sensors to be replaced without the need for reconfiguration.

Result: increased efficiency, process transparency, better use of resources such as water and energy, and a significant reduction in environmental impact.
