Opencall 1 CYberSynchrony: Infrastructure resilience and operational readiness

CYberSynchrony launches its first Open Call with the objective of strengthening cyber resilience and operational readiness of critical infrastructures in key sectors regulated by the NIS2 Directive. This call is part of the Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP) scheme within the CYberSynchrony project, co-financed by the European Union.
Challenges and Objectives

The call seeks proposals for innovative solutions which:

  • Improve the resilience of critical infrastructures to cyber threats.
  • Increase operational readiness to detect, respond to and mitigate security incidents.
  • Promote cross-sector collaboration and threat intelligence.
  • Increase awareness and operational capacities in key sectors such as energy, transport, drinking water and manufacturing.
Who can apply?

This call is intended for participants who contribute value to the security and resilience of critical infrastructures, including:

  • SMEs with expertise in cybersecurity solutions.
  • Public and private organizations in NIS2 sectors (such as energy, transport, water and manufacturing operators).
  • Independent professionals specializing in cybersecurity.
  • Research centres, universities and start-ups.
Requirements

In order to apply for this Open Call, applicants must comply with the following:

  • Be established in eligible countries under the Digital Europe Programme (includes EU Member States, associated EEA countries, and other participating countries defined in the programme).
  • Submit an individual project (SME) or in a consortium (2 or 3 entities). If submitted in a consortium, the coordinator must be a SME.
  • Demonstrate technical capability and expertise in cybersecurity, infrastructure resilience or incident management.
Funding
  • Maximum amount per project: up to €200,000.
  • Type of funding: 100 % lump-sum financing, linked to the delivery of predetermined results and deliverables.
  • Expected project duration: Approximately 8 months.
  • Payments: Made in three phases (pre-financing 30%, interim payment 40% and final payment 30%) after completion of key deliverables.
