NGI TALER- Open Call 6 – free digital payment systems
Call to select projects that make innovative contributions to the introduction of free digital payment methods and preserve privacy on the Internet.
Objective

- Development of open source software and hardware
- Validation of technical solutions
- Software engineering for quality improvement
- Security audits;
- Creation of documentation
- Standardization activities
- Usability improvements
- Support for deployment
- Participation in technical events
Challenges
Proposals may address various areas, development of ancillary tools, improvement of the user experience, integration of GNU Taler into open source software (FOSS) applications and open standards, and refinement of infrastructure components, as commercial backends.
Funding
A maximum of €50,000 per project will be funded, subject to the following conditions:
- Funding rate: up to 100 % of eligible costs.
- Grants range from €5,000 to €50,000. The cumulative limit for any applicant under the programme is €60,000.
- Payments: Funding is disbursed on the basis of pre-defined milestones. Applicants outline project stages and associated budgets; a request for payment may be submitted at the end of each stage.
Eligibility criteria
- Projects should be aligned with the vision and objectives of NGI TALER, have a primary focus on R&D, and demonstrate a clear European dimension.
- All scientific results must be published in open access, and any software or hardware developed must be under a recognized open source license.
