Call to participate in EUSAiR Pilots – AI regulation in Europe

The EUSAiR pilot projects provide AI providers, regulators and support infrastructures across Europe with a unique opportunity to experiment and share use cases, as well as to collaborate and jointly design future procedures and methods of AI regulatory testing environments, thus contributing to the implementation of the AI Act.

Its aim of the EUSAiR project is to ensure access to test environments for innovative AI companies, in particular SMEs and start-ups, reducing compliance costs and market barriers.

Participants can choose one of three test environments:

  • EUSAiR advice and guidance: focus group sessions where policy issues are addressed through discussions with experts.
  • Digital sandboxing: simulated test environments where your AI system can be safely evaluated.
  • Real-world testing: practical evaluation of AI systems in their actual development or implementation context.

Who can participate

  • AI providers (start-ups, SMEs, large companies, research centres).
  • National authorities responsible for the regulation of AI.
  • AI innovation initiatives such as EDIHs, TEFs and AI Factories.

How to participate

Interested entities should contact the project as soon as possible to make an informal pre-application describing briefly the use case to be submitted to the pilot programme, the type of framework they are interested in, because there are different deadlines depending on the type of test environment.
